As a coral ecophysiologist, I am primarily interested in the response of coral physiology and biogeochemistry to multiple stressors, including increasing sea surface temperatures, ocean acidification, and elevated nutrients. I have conducted coral reef research in the Red Sea, Madagascar, the Caribbean, and Hawai'i.

Currently, as a 2021 Knauss Marine Policy Fellow with NOAA Ocean Acidification Program, I am gaining experience in governmental processes, establishing cross-organization collaborations, and connecting science to policy. I sit on the Secretariat of the Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network (GOA-ON), coordinate the Pier2Peer mentorship program, liaise with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), facilitate communication between Coastal Acidification Networks within the USA, aid with scientific capacity building in the Pacific Islands and the Caribbean, contribute to policy briefs and manuscripts, and recently co-organized the international conference Ocean Acidification Week 2021.
